The mission of the Senior Center is to create opportunities for mindful aging through physical activity, social engagement, creativity, lifelong learning and guidance, which creates a positive impact on our entire community.
Primary Programs & Services
- Provide a balance of social, recreational, educational, wellness and financial programs for adults, age 55 and older.
- Elderly Services offers a single point of entry for access to programs and services that support our seniors, their family and the community.
- Offer a non‐medical, curb to curb transportation service for residents who are members age 60 and over or disabled.
- Conduct outreach to those in the community who are homebound.
Title III Grants
The Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging (SWCAA) offers Title III Grants. The Center applied and has received funding for a variety of programs and services, including but not limited to: Caregiver Educational Series, Caregiver Information, Caregiver Support Group, Chore Service, Transportation and several Recreation Programs. While these activities are offered free of charge to center members, we are asked to seek donations. Thus our suggestion box doubles as a donation box with small envelopes for people to indicate the program the donation is for: recreation, chore service, caregiver information & assistance, caregiver education, caregiver support group or transportation. The Caregiver programs (Support Group, Information and the Education Series) are available to anyone in our community who is 60+ or caregiving for someone 60+.
Membership Information
